Transfer Solutions to Support Rehabilitation and Independence

A Pioneering Project Supporting Independence

In Lattes, France, at the heart of the Montpellier Metropolitan Area, the municipality has launched an exemplary initiative with the creation of the Autonomy & Health Centre: a resource centre entirely dedicated to promoting technical solutions for maintaining independence and preventing loss of autonomy.

An Innovation and Training Space

The centre’s mission is to inform, raise awareness, and support individuals, caregivers, and healthcare professionals regarding assistive devices, mobility solutions, and home adaptation measures.

The 2,400 m² building, inaugurated in July 2025, brings together several complementary spaces on a single site: an exhibition and demonstration area, a fully equipped training apartment, a Fab Lab for the design and adaptation of assistive devices, modular training rooms, and an auditorium for conferences and awareness initiatives.

This reference centre allows users to test, compare, and experience over 600 assistive and technological solutions under the supervision of occupational therapists and specialised professionals.

Integration of Guldmann Solutions

As part of the design of the rehabilitation spaces, the Centre teams chose to integrate Guldmann ceiling hoist systems on H-rails, to facilitate and support functional rehabilitation sessions.
The installations include:

  • H-rails, providing full and smooth coverage of the area,
  • The GH3+ lifting module with Trainer module, allowing precise, effortless movement,
  • Ergonomic slings adapted to different exercises and mobility situations.

These solutions help secure care and exercises, reduce physical strain on professionals, and promote progressive autonomy for users through adjustable assistance.

The GH3+ system also dynamically reduces body weight during active exercises, facilitating and optimising motor rehabilitation. Rail integration was carried out in close collaboration with architects and occupational therapists, ensuring a balance between performance, safety, and aesthetics.

Guldmann and the Autonomy & Health Centre share a common vision: creating an environment where technology enhances quality of life, safety, and dignity for the people they support.

Guldmann lifting systems are used as demonstration and training tools to:

  • Raise awareness of safe transfer practices,
  • Promote prevention of musculoskeletal disorders,
  • Illustrate the importance of ergonomics adapted to care.

This installation demonstrates the Hub’s commitment to providing concrete, accessible, and educational equipment for professionals, caregivers, and the public.

A partnership that fully reflects Guldmann’s mission:

“Time to Care.”
