New Zealand actress and tetraplegic recommends Guldmann hoists and slings

Sophia Malthus is a tetraplegic who relies on Guldmann hoists and slings to live as independently as possible in her own home. Sophia is a local celebrity in New Zealand and features in a small TV series called Meme as well as performing different modeling jobs.

Sophia's personal choice of Guldmann sling is the Basic Low due to its comfort and versatility within her home environment. She enjoys the Guldmann system because of its reliability and how easy it is to use.

Recently Sophia spent a whole day doing a photoshoot for one of our distributors, Active Healthcare, on which trying on slings was a part of the job. Sophia was impressed with the range of Guldmann slings and even got to experience some newer products.

“I really like the Guldmann slings, I like that there are different types to suit what everyone needs,” says Sophia.
She was also impressed with the comfort of the materials used as she recognises that skin integrity is a big concern, “we have to be careful not to pinch and rub on the skin in a sling.”
