K9s For Warriors

K9s For Warriors was established in 2011 and is a Florida 501(c)(3) based charity and not-for-profit organization that trains and provides highly skilled service dogs to disabled veterans. The organization focuses on training and pairing mostly rescue and kill shelter dogs with veterans suffering from PTSD, creating a bright future for both. The lifelong program is provided to the warriors at no cost and is designed to deliver maximum benefit.

As an organization, Guldmann is proud to support our local communities. After learning about K9s For Warriors and the outstanding work they are doing for the veterans and the dogs, we felt compelled to provide our support to this great organization. In April 2022 Lauren Klein and Fion the service dog paid a visit to the Guldmann Inc. HQ in Tampa to receive the $20,000 charitable donation.

Lauren, a former Marine and Iraq war veteran humbly accepted the donation on behalf of K9s For Warriors. Lauren and her service dog Fion have been paired for 3 years. Locally, Lauren is also involved in the community as a special needs teacher for children with severe autism and Fion goes with her to work every day and serves in a supporting role at the school for both her and the special needs children, creating more ‘time to care’ for everyone.

Guldmann’s $20,000 charitable donation will go a long way in helping a disabled veteran get a much-needed service dog and a path to a better and more fulfilling life. When paired the veteran and the assigned dog (K9) go through several weeks of training at the K9s For Warriors extensive training camp in Florida before they are sent home together. The dog will learn how to sense the stress level of the warrior and create space around her/him, as well as look out for and avoid compromising situations.

It was a pleasure welcoming Lauren and Fion to the Guldmann office. It is a privilege for Guldmann to support K9s For Warriors’ amazing cause designed to enhance our veterans' lives and continue to serve and support the local community.
