Pelvis lift for hygiene purposes
A good tip:
Ease the work of using bedpans and washing the patient
Lifting an extremity for personal hygiene tasks can be heavy and difficult to handle.
When you consider that one leg is on average 16% of the person’s total body weight and one arm is 5%, an example of holding an arm or leg for several minutes when washing the patient in bed, can be a strain on the carer.
These tasks can be made easier with the use of a Guldmann Multi Support and Guldmann Leg sling.
Inserting a bedpan in the bed can also be a heavy and difficult process, using different slings - a Multi Support sling and two leg slings removes the strain – meaning the ceiling hoist does all of the heavy work.
