Service Technician

The Service Technician completes equipment inspections at customer sites and performs load testing on lifting systems. The Technician also provides technical support and customer service in the areas of maintenance, installation, and repairs to hospital staff, field staff, distributors, and our dealer network.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Perform load testing & equipment inspections/repairs at customer sites.
  • Assist in receiving and delivery of materials
  • Act as a technical support contact for the field on all issues concerning diagnostics, repair, and installation of ceiling lifts and floor lifts.
  • Participate in handling and maintain the eRMA work as it pertains to warranty and repair claims.
  • Interface with our customers and end-users based on communication with them, in terms of warranty claims.
  • Handle maintenance, diagnostics, and repair of lift equipment for the hospital and nursing sector
  • Identify and report non-conforming components both in writing and verbally to the supervisor
  • Take service-related phone calls from facilities and home care customers, fill in service orders, record service calls on an Excel spreadsheet, and a dispatch service call to the appropriate field technician.
  • Support trade show activity and other equipment demonstrations.
  • All other tasks as assigned by supervisor.

Non-essential Job Functions
Assist in the warehouse as needed or when all primary functions are completed.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Intermediate experience with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other software products.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in written form.
  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues over the phone
  • Must be a team player and have good interpersonal skills.
  • Must have a valid Passport or be eligible to apply for a passport.
  • Must have a good working knowledge of how to use power and hand tools.
  • Must be able to climb ladders.
  • Must be able to comfortably carry 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to accurately type at least 30 words/numbers per minute.
  • Must have good organization and record-keeping skills.

Physical & Mental Requirements
Must have the physical and mental strength and endurance to be able to perform duties, in at times extreme environments, as well as the ability to handle stressors of the position in operational and administrative situations. Required to frequently lift and move up to 50 pounds. Expected to stand, sit, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, bend, talk, hear, taste, smell, see, and operate objects, tools, and controls.
