Introduction - environmental policy

The object of this environmental statement is to give our stakeholders information about the environmental issues and the present environmental management at V. Guldmann A/S.

 

Guldmann is continuously working towards ensuring that the company's impact on the environment on both a local and global scale is reduced to a minimum.

 

To a large extent, environmental awareness is a question of simple common sense. Saving energy and materials is also a good economic way of thinking in both the long and the short run. By constantly optimising our production processes to avoid resource waste and pollution, we also achieve financial and competitive advantages.

 

It is Guldmann's goal to:

  • Comply with the current environmental legislation
  • Ensure that we employ environmentally correct materials and processes in close collaboration with our suppliers
  • Continuously minimise the relative waste quantity and emission as well as ensure that the company recycles as much as possible
  • Continuously improve the internal working environment
  • Ensure that our products do not have an unnecessary negative impact on the environment regarding use, recirculation or disposal
  • Ensure that our products contribute to a positive working environment in the places they are utilised.

V. Guldmann A/S has chosen not to be environmentally certified. The company is categorised as a category 2 company cf. the Danish Environmental Protection Agency's categoric system. Annual inspections are made by the Department for Nature and Environment from the Municipality of Aarhus using the Danish Environmental Protection Act, section 42 as a reference.


 

 

Environmental action plan for 2014

Energy – internal

  • Register the fuel consumption for the company's assembly and service vehicles with the view of identifying potential savings.
  • Replace SAN system in server room with newer technology to be finished. We expect the energy consumptions will be reduced to half of today.
  • Investigate the possibility to install sun panels for producing electricity on our premises in Tampa, Florida.
  • Test LED light in administration.
  • Investigate the potential for extension of the agreement with Danfoss Energy Trim TM
  • Check new possibility to isolate all elder gates.


Packaging

  • Review the packaging for ramps.


Other

  • Improving and extension welding exhausting in toolshop. Larger filter area and improved filtering performance with a 99,9% filtration efficiency.
     

 

Status for 2013

Energy – internal

  • Investigate the possibility to install sun panels for producing electricity on our premises in Skejby. The investigation is finished and the project is not attractive at the moment. Project is stopped.
  • Register the fuel consumption for the company's assembly and service vehicles with the view of identifying potential savings. Moved to 2014.
  • Replace SAN system in server room with newer technology. WE expect the energy consumptions will be reduced to half of today. Started and expected to be finished February 2014.
  • Isolating of wall at goods reception. Finished.
  • Establish a door beside the gate where goods are loaded. This will reduce the need of opening the gate. Finished.


Packaging

  • Change the way two aluminums parts for GH1 and GH3 hoist and packed today. Finished.
  • Review the packaging for ramps. Moved to 2014.
